Forecasting & Prediction in an Innovation Context.

Image
Forecasting & Prediction in an Innovation Context. The world is facing increased growth and change. The changes make the future uncertain as no one knows what new changes can occur tomorrow; no one knows that future. However, forecasts and predictions can help us get a close result on the changes and uncertainties in the future. Both play a vital role in determining a business’s success in the future. Forecasting estimates the characteristics, success, and demand of a product or technology (Watts & Porter, 2017).  Predictions and forecasts identify possible strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. When firms use them correctly, they enjoy growth and development. Firms and researchers use the results from forecasts for appropriate decision-making and business planning.  For accurate forecasts and predictions, firms use a combination of scientific analysis of previous data and subjective considerations. Accidental Game-changing Ideas (Innovations)

Image
Innovation. Innovation involves producing or discovering a new idea for the benefit of society. We can also refer to the invention as a process that covers creating new machines, products, services, or software (Kojabayev & Maziliauskas, 2017). A new device, equipment, or machinery is also an innovation. It covers processes researchers and technicians develop to solve problems and make life easier. Although some experts accidentally created specific ideas, processes, or machines, various individuals and organizations around the globe have enjoyed particular benefits due to innovation. Due to the tremendous benefits for society, more individuals, organizations, and government agencies are investing in research and development to promote innovation. Accidental Game-changing Innovations (Ideas) While some researchers and experts consciously created some ideas and machines, they accidentally did some. For some products, they conducted research, monitored processes, and ran tests ...

Group Decision-Making Methods The quote “two heads are better than one” has promoted group decision-making amongst private and public agencies. It encompasses various individuals who discuss policies and decide on the best. Organizations and government agencies gather experts from multiple fields to decide on strategies that benefit the organization or the country. There are various group-decision making techniques that firms and experts adopt. In some cases, the agencies discuss the methods with the participants to ensure they are comfortable. These organizations also inform the participants ahead so they can learn about the chosen technique and prepare for the decision-making process. Group Decision-making The Delphi Technique The Delphi technique is an example of those methods. It involves using iterative questionnaires to gather information from a group of individuals who could be policymakers or experts in a particular field. The individuals involved in this process anonymou...

Technology and Trend from EDUCAUSE

Image
I will discuss how key technologies can improve the information security challenges that universities face. I listened to the webinar “Exploring the 2021 Information Security Horizon Report” to do this. I also read the transcript EDUCAUSE provided on its website. The panelists identified various technologies for higher education but emphasized cloud vendor management systems. Due to universities' reliance on cloud-based services, they must manage relationships with vendors to ensure satisfactory results ( Webinar | Exploring the 2021 Information Security Horizon Report | EDUCAUSE , n.d.). Cloud vendor management systems could be applications or software that find, monitor, engage, and manage relationships with external vendors. It allows firms to centralize interaction with service providers. The cloud-based vendor management system has various benefits; they include; Improved Decision Making, Adequate information improved knowledge and choices. Firms can gather insights into a cl...

Responding to Threats Anywhere and Everywhere

About Me Working as a Senior Security Engineer constantly revalidates the need for first responders to threats on the internet. Attacks can come in any shape or form, ranging from Incident Response, Endpoint Security, Threat Intel, Cloud Security, and Hunting to all-around Cyber Operations and Defence. I possess 2 graduate degrees, one in International Business from an accredited Business School in the United Kingdom and the second in Cybersecurity from The United States. Currently, I’m enrolled for a doctorate degree in Cybersecurity.     I like to read, travel, and capture time through photographs in my spare time.  Part of my aspiration is to write published papers in the not-too-distant future on issues within the security space. I served as an Editor-In-Chief for my departmental bulletin in college, and it would be nice to get back into it.   Cybersecurity Incident Responder, Malware Researcher....your friendly neighborhood security weirdo!   My C...
